Drontal Allwormer for Dogs is a tablet for the control of all gastrointestinal worms in dogs including roundworm, hookworm, whipworm and tapeworm. Drontal is a tablet formulation of three distinctly different proven drugs offering the broadest spectrum of activity. The febantel/pyrantel combination is active against roundworms and is highly effective against whipworms. Praziquantel provides a superb level of efficiency against all the major tapeworms. Drontal does not control heartworm. Drontal Cat Allwormer Tablets is a tablet for the control of all species of gastrointestinal worms in kittens and cats including roundworm, hookworm and tapeworm. Drontal does not control heartworm.

Drontal is to be given every 3 months. Drontal Allwormer for Dogs is a tablet for the control of all gastrointestinal worms in dogs including roundworm, hookworm, whipworm and tapeworm (including hydatid tapeworm). Dogs are treated by weight with the appropriate sized tablet or combination of tablets (1 tablet per 3 kg/6.6 lbs). Drontal is given as a single dose by mouth. Fasting prior to dosing is not necessary. Drontal is available in three sizes. Small dog tablet for puppies and dogs up to 3 kg (6.6 lbs). Medium dog tablet for puppies and dogs up to 10 kg (22 lbs) and Large dog tablet for dogs up to 35 kg (77 lbs). Dogs over 35 kg are given a combination of the tablets.

The side effects of Drontal are rare at the recommended dosage. Drontal has a wide margin of safety for all sizes and breeds of dogs and cats. It is approved for use in puppies and kittens as young as 2 weeks, old animals, greyhounds, working dogs, pregnant females, breeding females, lactating females and stud dogs and cats. Drontal may be combined with other treatments, for example heartworm prevention, flea and tick treatments and vaccination. Do not use in puppies or kittens under 2 weeks of age. This medication should not be used in animals allergic to it. In case of overdose contact your veterinarian or veterinary emergency room. While rare, symptoms of overdose may include vomiting, loss of appetite, diarrhea and salivation.
